Nassif House stands in al-Balad, Jeddah: coral stone and teak rawashin in the Hijazi manner. It is given to Umar Effendi Nassif in the late 13th/19th century; 1872 is a circulating year, not a plaque in this review. It was a merchant family house, not a seat of rule.
After Abd al-Aziz entered Jeddah in 1344/1925 he stayed here for a time. That is a later political association, not the reason it was built. The stair said to take animals is local report; it is told as such.
The house now sits in Historic Jeddah (UNESCO). Al-Balad is not this house, and not every rawshan in the quarter is his.
