Acceptance and eligibility

The agreement begins when you use the service or accept the terms during registration. You must have full legal capacity or use the service under guardian or lawful-representative supervision and approval where required. If you act for an organisation, you represent that you may bind it to these terms.

Some features may present additional terms before use. If they conflict, the additional terms control only that feature, subject to mandatory rights that cannot lawfully be varied.

Operator and independent status

Saudi Memory Map is operated under the name PurityTech. It is an independent cultural project, not a government website or public authority. Displaying a public body’s logo, link, or source does not imply approval, partnership, or representation unless a documented announcement expressly states it.

For official correspondence and rights requests, use info@saudimemory.com. For support and account issues, use support@saudimemory.com.

Nature of the service

The platform connects places with events, people, sources, stories, and routes and provides tools for exploration, planning, saving, and contribution. Features may be added, changed, or withdrawn under these terms.

The service is cultural and informational. It is not a government record, fatwa, archaeological, legal, engineering, navigation, or emergency service. Do not rely on it alone for a decision requiring official information or field safety.

Accounts, sign-in, and security

Public areas may be used as a guest. When creating an account, provide accurate, current information; protect your device, password, and verification codes; and promptly report unauthorised use. You are responsible for account activity until you notify us or affected sessions are stopped.

If you use Google or another external sign-in provider, your relationship with that provider remains subject to its terms. We may reject automatic linking that could expose an existing account to takeover and may require renewed authentication for sensitive actions.

You may not sell, transfer, or share an account in a way that endangers the service or others’ rights.

Historical and editorial content

We take reasonable care with sources, historical confidence, spatial precision, and review status, but history may contain conflicting accounts and some locations may be approximate or unresolved. Publication does not make material an official or final fact.

We may correct, reclassify, archive, or supplement content with other sources and accounts. Citations and links support provenance but do not endorse every view in a source. AI-assisted material remains subject to accountable human review before publication.

Visits, routes, and safety

Maps, routes, and estimates are not entry permits and do not guarantee opening, suitability, road safety, or navigation accuracy. Places may be private, sensitive, hazardous, permit-controlled, time-limited, or subject to photography restrictions.

Before visiting, check the competent authority, weather, road, hours, and permits; follow security and emergency instructions; and respect property, antiquities, the environment, and local communities. You are responsible for judging your ability, vehicle, and equipment and must not enter a prohibited place because it appears on the map.

Your contributions and licence

You retain ownership of material you originally own. By submitting text, an image, data, or a correction, you grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, sublicensable to service providers as reasonably needed, to use, copy, store, display, format, translate, edit without misleading the meaning, promote, and archive the contribution within the service and its cultural and documentation purposes for the period those rights are needed.

For third-party licensed material, you grant only what that licence permits and must comply with attribution and source conditions. You may request removal of material you own, but we may retain a limited record or unpublished copy to prove provenance, licence, and review, comply with law, or address a current claim.

We need not publish or retain a contribution and may reject it, change its formatting, hide it, or archive it. Publication does not create employment, editorial appointment, or payment unless a separate written agreement says so.

Contributor promises and responsibility

You represent that you have authority and rights to submit the contribution; source and licence details are accurate; it does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, confidentiality, or law; and it contains no sensitive data or misleading allegation about a living person.

You are responsible for a claim directly caused by breach of these promises. To the extent permitted by law, you will reimburse the operator for direct losses and reasonable costs finally awarded because of that breach, after notice and a reasonable opportunity to participate in the defence. This does not limit mandatory consumer rights or shift responsibility for the operator’s own fault.

Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully and respectfully. In particular, you must not:

  • Hack or test vulnerabilities without written authorisation, bypass access controls or usage limits, or evade security and rate limits.
  • Collect personal data or scrape the service in a way that harms it, republishes a substantial database, or exceeds an announced interface or licence.
  • Upload malware, impersonate a person or body, create deceptive accounts, or use the service for fraud, harassment, or threats.
  • Remove provenance or rights notices, submit false licensing, or publish sensitive coordinates or information that endangers a place, person, or property.
  • Use automation to publish historical content or perform administrative actions without human approval and explicit authority.
  • Disrupt the service, impose an unreasonable load, or use its content to train or build a competing product in breach of applicable rights or the stated licence.

Intellectual property and database rights

Rights in the Saudi Memory Map identity, marks, design, software, original text, and creative database selection and arrangement belong to their owners or licensors and are protected by applicable law. Use gives you no ownership or implied licence beyond a limited, personal, revocable right to access the service under these terms.

External material, images, maps, and quotations remain with their owners and under the displayed licences and attribution. Use only what law or the applicable licence allows. A copyright report should identify the work, URL, and reporter’s authority and be sent to info@saudimemory.com.

Third-party services and links

The service may open maps, images, sign-in, stores, or source websites operated by others. They are independent and apply their own terms and policies. We do not guarantee their availability, accuracy, security, or continuing links.

A link does not imply sponsorship or approval. Deal directly with the other party for a purchase, booking, or data sharing outside the platform and review its terms before continuing.

Availability, changes, and force majeure

We aim for a reliable service but provide no service-level agreement to general users and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. A feature or item may be paused or withdrawn temporarily or permanently for maintenance, security, rights, legal change, or another legitimate operating reason.

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by matters beyond reasonable control, such as provider or network outage, disaster, competent-authority order, or widespread attack, while using reasonable efforts to limit impact and restore service.

Memberships and payments

The platform may later offer memberships or paid services. No fee is due and no paid-feature obligation arises until price, taxes, cancellation, performance, and required commercial terms are displayed and accepted before payment.

Membership expiry does not automatically delete the account or readable saved data. If payments are enabled, their specific commercial terms control that feature, subject to mandatory consumer rights.

Suspension, termination, and account deletion

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account or content for breach, security risk, legal request, or protection of others, acting proportionately and giving notice where reasonably possible and safe. Suspension does not prevent exercise of privacy rights required by law.

You may stop using the service and request account deletion through the account centre. Deletion follows the Privacy Policy. A published contribution may remain after your personal data is detached, and limited records may remain to protect a right or meet a legal obligation.

Disclaimers and limits of liability

The service and available content are provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. We use reasonable care with security and provenance but do not warrant every account, coordinate, or visit status or suitability for a particular purpose not expressly agreed in writing.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss or damage caused by reliance contrary to warnings, a user’s act, a third-party service, or an event beyond reasonable control. If liability is established, it is limited to direct, foreseeable loss caused by our breach.

Nothing excludes liability that law does not allow us to exclude or limits mandatory data-protection or consumer rights, fraud, gross fault, or damage for which applicable law requires responsibility.

Governing law and resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Please begin a complaint by emailing info@saudimemory.com with a clear description so the parties can attempt an amicable resolution within 30 days. This does not prevent urgent relief or exercise of a right before a competent authority.

If unresolved, the competent Saudi courts or authorities have jurisdiction under applicable rules. Mandatory consumer and data-subject complaint and jurisdiction rights remain unaffected.

Updates and general provisions

We may update these terms for service or legal changes. The version and effective date are published above, and we provide suitable notice or seek renewed acceptance when a change is material. Continued account use after an announced effective date constitutes acceptance where legally permitted.

If a provision cannot be enforced, it is modified or removed only as needed and the remainder continues. A failure to enforce once is not a waiver. You may not transfer the agreement without consent; operation may be transferred to a lawful successor while protecting your rights and notifying you where required.

Contact and reports

Official, privacy, and rights correspondence: info@saudimemory.com. Technical and account-security support: support@saudimemory.com. Include the relevant page or content URL and a description. Never email a password, verification code, or sensitive data.

This operating document is grounded in the platform’s current functionality and official Saudi guidance. Qualified Saudi counsel should validate the operator’s legal identity and address, international-transfer arrangements, and final wording before it is treated as final legal advice.
