الأفلاج القديمة ليست موقعاً واحداً، بل منظومة واحات ومياه جنوب اليمامة. اسمها نفسه يفتح باب الحديث عن الأفلاج والعيون وشبكات الري والاستقرار.
إضافتها مهمة لأن الماء هو مفتاح قراءة وسط الجزيرة. من الخرج إلى الأفلاج ووادي الدواسر، تتشكل سلسلة جنوبية تشرح الزراعة والعبور والقرى قبل المدن الحديثة.
