A town on the Najd–Hijaz edge south of Jabal Hadan. On 25 May 1919 Abd Allah ibn al-Husayn was defeated by Sultan ibn Bijad and Khalid ibn Luwayy. The photograph is of Wadi Turabah, not a battle plan.

Why visit?
A corridor town whose 1919 battle is dated, kept distinct from Hail and from 1813.
Turabah is first a place: جنوب Jabal Hadan, east of Taif, on the Najd–Hijaz corridor. It is not the Hail namesake.
The official narrative dates the battle to 25 Shaban 1337 / 25 May 1919. After Khalid ibn Luwayy, amir of Turabah, declared for Abd al-Aziz, Sharif Husayn sent Abd Allah ibn al-Husayn from al-Ushayra. Abd al-Aziz sent Sultan ibn Bijad from al-Ghutghat. The account is a short Hashimite assault, a counter-surprise, then a ten-day settlement of the amirate. It opens the Hijaz phase; it does not close every later fight.
