Al-Sabalah is placed on 19 Shawwal 1347 / 30 March 1929, near al-Zulfi north of Riyadh. The site is a landscape, not a museum town. The causes precede the day: zealotry, rejection of telegraph and telephone, and the 1344 / 1925 mahmal crisis.
The king held the centre, Saud the cavalry right, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman the left. A premature Ikhwan rush from cover was broken; pursuit was halted. Al-Dawish and Ibn Bijad fled. Later raids and Umm Radmah followed: this ended the revolt as a political alternative, not all shooting in Najd.
