في بزاخة بأرض بني أسد شمال نجد التقى خالد بن الوليد بطُليحة بن خويلد الأسدي الذي ادّعى النبوة والتفّت حوله أسد وغطفان وطيّئ. انهزم طليحة وفرّ إلى الشام، ثم تاب لاحقاً وحسن إسلامه وأبلى في فتوح العراق. كانت بزاخة من أوسع معارك الردّة أثراً، إذ فكّكت أكبر تحالف قبلي مرتدّ في وسط الجزيرة.
