في البطاح بأرض بني تميم واجه خالد بن الوليد فلول الردّة بعد بزاخة. وفيها قُتل الزعيم والشاعر مالك بن نويرة اليربوعي في حادثة أثارت جدلاً بين المؤرّخين قديماً وحديثاً حول ملابساتها، حتى عوتب فيها خالد. كانت المنطقة قد اضطربت مع دعوة سجاح التميمية التي ادّعت النبوة قبل أن تتحالف مع مسيلمة في اليمامة.
