Jabal Bulo'um rises in al-Hariq governorate جنوب Riyadh, a towering rock mass that split from the main Tuwaiq chain and dominates the upper reaches of Wadi Naam. Across history it functioned as a beacon for travelers coming from southern Najd toward al-Hawtah and al-Hariq, and as a principal path for Atayba and Qahtan tribes during the date harvest season.
The mountain is geologically exceptional: observers can count as many as fifteen distinct pebble colors within a single square meter, alongside layered stone formations of contrasting hues. Nearby Jabal al-Dharboun, a smaller hill, holds rare rock engravings depicting animals and human forms with fine artistic detail, reflecting cultures that inhabited the region long before the Islamic era.
Together the two peaks unite navigational memory, tribal seasonal movement, geological curiosity, and deep prehistoric art in one corner of historic al-Yamama.
